Interview Questions
Hi there Pups and Handlers!
Thank you so much for offering to be interviewed and have it published on pupplay.info, Sharing your voice to the greater community will help share and promote the diversity that the pup play community has to offer. To try to stay unbiased we don’t want to direct you to answer a set of specific questions, but we want you to take the lead to show the community your side.
We have below a series of questions, we want you to pick several that speak out to you, either to help show others your style and/or any messages you want to share and promote. You can answer as few or as many as possible as long as you feel comfortable with what you say. Our only request is to keep it long enough to be all read within 10-15 minutes (so it fits in someones travel to work for example)
We also ask you to provide some photos to be used and viewable publicly (They need to stay PG-13 rated please) and it is best to supply one photo per 2-3 questions that you answer. Please send your chosen questions with their answers and copies of your photos to the email that you received.
If a question is uncomfortable for you, please don’t feel pressured to answer them, also we ask you to please keep slander out of any responses, so no names of specific people or groups in a negative way please.

Main Questions:
- What are your thoughts on pup names?
- How do you explain pup play to someone who has no idea or understanding of what it is?
- What are some ways you know of that someone can connect with their inner pup or handler energy on their own?
- What are your thoughts about sexuality in relation to pup play?
- We talk a lot about pup hierarchies (Alpha, beta, omega). What are your thoughts on this?
- Describe your earliest experience as a pup or handler. Please feel free to be as descriptive as possible (keeping in mind, however, that sexual explicitness is kept to a minimum).
- Describe an instance where your pup or handler personality came out at an unexpected moment.
- How does your pup or handler persona balance with your “everyday” life?
- We hear many pups and handlers in the community calling for increased education. What are some of the topics you would like to see more education on?
- WHEN and HOW/IN WHAT WAY did you realize your desire or your need to be who you are?
Controversial Questions:
- What are your thoughts on the stereotyping of all pups as being submissive or all handlers/trainers being dominant?
- Much of the focus on and within the pup and handler community seems to be toward the pups, and that the ratio of pups to handlers is very once-sided. What are your thoughts on this?
- The pup and handler community, like much of the broader leather and kink community, is geared heavily toward the cities and population centers. This has led to many feeling disconnected from the whole. What are your thoughts on this and how can it be addressed?
- One of the hot-button topics in the pup & handler community today is about a perceived “need” for a collar or handler to be a pup. What are your thoughts on this?
- I’m omega/alpha is it good to be a switch or should I focus on one more then other ?
For Greater Community:
- Where do you see the pup and handler community in relation to the broader leather/kink/fetish community?
- Pup and handler clubs have sprung up in large numbers? What are your thoughts and feelings about these groups?
- OK, pup and handler titles? What are your thoughts about these, or about pups and handlers competing for more “mainstream” titles?
- In terms of gender identification, sexual orientation, age, or any other “descriptor,” the pup and handler community is often touted as being very inclusive. What are your views of ideas regarding this?
- What are your thoughts about sexuality in relation to pup play?
- Where do you see the pup and handler community in relation to the broader leather/kink/fetish community?
- What are your pup community goals?
- In terms of gender identification, sexual orientation, age, or any other “descriptor,” the pup and handler community is often touted as being very inclusive. What are your views of ideas regarding this?

Pup Specific Questions:
- Do you identify with a particular breed of bio dog? If so, describe how you relate to that breed.
- What does being a pup mean to you?
- What are your thoughts on pup names?
- Within the pup world, how do you view the significance or meaning of a collar?
- Does gear help your immersion into headspace? If so or if not, please elaborate.
- What pup-centric resources are your favorites?
- Whats puppy headspace? and what does yours look like?
- Describe your earliest experience as a pup or handler. Please feel free to be as descriptive as possible (keeping in mind, however, that sexual explicitness is kept to a minimum).
- What kind of tasty treats you have?
- Do pups have to share their teddy bear toys with other pups ?
- Is pup space flexible? Such as going from full canine mentality and behavior to a mix of human and canine?
- So other than avoiding eating actual dog food (for health reasons) and keeping ‘tugs of war’ gentle to avoid damage to teeth, what other safety-oriented things should pups know?
- Does the colors of your mask play a role for you like the hankie code?
- If you could become a bio pup for real and can change forms whenever you wanted to, would you want that, or are you happy being ‘locked’ into a human body?
Handler Specific Questions:
- What are some of the challenges particular to pup-handling, both within the pup and handler community and from without, you’ve faced?
- What does your “handler headspace” look like?

- Have you ever attended any pup-centric events? If so, what were your impressions?

- Are there any other thoughts, ideas, or comments you’d like to share?
- As related to pup play or the pup & handler world, how do you define the role of a handler? A trainer? An owner?
- What does being a pup or a handler mean to you?
- When did you first discover pup play or realize you were interested in pup play?
- How do you handle someone on an app who tries to force you to call him a sir?
- If you’re interested in becoming a puppy, what steps do you take to first get started?
- What is you code of conduct with a puppy who gets too aggressive?
